Without the school scholarships provided by LADANI these wonderful children would be forced to stop attending school.

For only $50 you can sponsor an at risk child with a year of school materials.

In return you will receive a photo, biography, and have the opportunity to exchange letters, pictures and drawings with the child.

 

Projects handled:

*   Pre School Teacher Training Project:

75 teachers were given the required training to teach in the poor schools in the areas close to Ladani homes

*    Feeding Project:  

Certain schools have been selected to provide meals to the children.  The beneficiaries of this project are: Kala-oya Sunday School, Kirimatiyana School, Iranawila Pre-school and Children with slow learning abilities at Dharma, Lansigama.  All these children get free meals once a week.

*    Sick Children Project:     

Children who are sick but unable to find money to meet the medical expenses are the beneficiaries of this project.

*  Scholarship Project: 

   Intelligent but poor children have been selected from four educational districts and each child is being given Rs. 4800/= per year to meet the school expenses.  There are 261 school children from Nattandiya, Chilaw, Wennappuwa and Arachchikattuwa educational districts who receive this grant.

*  Micro Finance Project:     

Twenty poor people are being given an interest free loan of Rs. 25,000/- each to start a small scale income generating venture.  The aim of this project is to alleviate poverty of these people.  This project is being funded by Lotus Foundation in U.K.
